If a student must serve a detention, the parent is given at least one day’s notice of the detention via phone call or written detention slip.

Students will report to a designated classroom and serve the detention under the supervision of a classroom teacher.

Detention day and time will be determined by the classroom teacher and assigned students must be in attendance. Failure to serve detention may result in suspension or expulsion from the school. Detention will be served for the following reasons (examples):

Excessive tardiness (see Tardy Policy).

Dress Code violation (see Dress Code).

For misbehavior when deemed necessary.

Incomplete or missing assignments.

Cheating

Inappropriate language/disrespect.
